Sunday 9-25-11 Pastor Michael’s sermon =Mission Impossible I Chronicles 4:7-10
===========================================================
Mission Impossible-moving from a cursed life to a blessed life.
There are things that seem impossible but are possible if we only believe. vs. 10 Jabez came from a cursed family, a cursed generation of cursed men. Its amazing that God can take people from a cursed life to a blessed life! God can take the foolish things, the messed up things and change them into blessings. God has brought us through such messes and changed us into blessed people.
Jabez’s name means “pain”. His mother named him pain because he was from a cursed generation. He was constantly reminded of this when his name was called. But….Jabez didn’t let this stop him In vs. 10, Jabez called on God to bless him. It doesn’t matter where you come from. Don’t let your past define your future! Don’t let the label people have put on you define you. Instead let it motivate you! Say as long as you have God in your life, you will succeed!!
Jabez used his pain to excel him and to motivate him to call on God. He called for and expected change from God! Don’t be defined but refined by the pain we go through! They said we would never make it but look at where we are today! We need to Praise God for the pain!
Praise God for the change!
Praise God for bringing us through that place of pain to where we are now. We are blessed and highly favored! God has brought us to our promise!
We need to stop defining ourselves by our pain. Don’t glory the pain. The pain prepares us for better things. Jabez depended on God for the change and not on his pedigree like his brothers did. vs. 9 Jabez didn’t stop believing in God’s Promises!
The reason we pray like we do is because we have been thru so much pain. Our pain is a reminder that to get through life we have to go to God! Glorify God!. In our pain and thru our pain, Glorify God!
Vs.10 God turned Jabez’s cursed life into a blessed life after Jabez prayed and asked God for it. God granted what he requested!
Jabez used his pain to refine himself by asking God to do for him what no one else thought was possible. The promise is that Greater is He that is in you then he that is in the world.
The promise is that God will protect us and bless us and always be with us! All that we have been thru is taking us to our place of promise!
Amen!!
