Let The Lifting Up Of My Hands Be As The Evening Sacrifice

Psalm 141:2
Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.

There is something spiritual about lifting our hands in praise or prayer. Full surrender. As a young Christian this was one of the first things taught; freedom in lifting our hands. It is contrary to “the norm” and it is frankly odd. Doing it in faith is fine, but delve into the study and find out this amazing treasure in Scripture is as important as praise, worship, and prayer. It is a weapon.

Go to the old to reveal the new. When Moses held up his hands, the enemy was defeated (Exodus 17).

When Jesus hung on the cross, with his hands nailed in the air, (who was the evening sacrifice) as darkness covered the earth. Scripture says that he spoiled (defeated) principalities and powers, triumphing over them. It was that act on the cross, that none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

This mystery has amazing power for us today once we know what the power in the lifting of hands can do in the spirit world.

Remember everything that happened in the Old Testament, foreshadowed what goes on in the spirit realm for us today. First Corinthians 10:11 ...all these things happened unto them for examples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come

Do a quick study on the evening sacrifice and lifting up of hands and next time you pray, praise, or just want a victory, lift up your hands, strengthen those feeble knees; believe the Lord is destroying the enemy in the spirit realm and take the victory and rejoice. You may not see it right away, but the Lord will honor your faith. Don’t lean on your understanding, but remember his thoughts and ways are higher than the heavens above ours.

And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
