“Father, You have given them to Me and I want them to be with Me where I am and to see My glory – the glory You gave Me, for You loved Me before the world was made.” - John 17:24

Oh, my Jesus! How my heart resounds with this cry - “I want to be with You where You are! I want to see Your glory!” This is Your very own desire for me! You don't keep Yourself distant from me. You call me to You, and then You draw near to me. Yes, this is one of my favorite things about You – Emmanuel, God with us. A God who longs to be near His people, to have intimate fellowship with His beloved. A God who loves me and lives within me. Unity, relationship, love – that is Your desire for me. You desired it so much that You died for me. You love me so much that You want to give me the greatest gift there is – Yourself, shinning in all Your glory. You have created me to be satisfied with nothing less. I must have more of You lest I break with longing! My God, fill more of me with more of You that You may be all in all until I am filled with all the fullness of You! You are my passion and my one desire. You have taught me so much – and that's good so far as it goes – but it's You I’m after. I want more than Your voice, I need more than understanding – I need the touch of Your hands, the warmth of Your embrace, the radiance of Your smile and the tender, burning look of love in Your eyes. The Israelites at the base of Mt. Sinai heard Your voice when You descended on that mountain, but they were afraid and shrank back from You. How that would never have been enough for me! My heart yearns to climb the mountain to where You are, even if it should mean my death, I have to be near to You my God or I am dead inside already. Lord, I’m reaching out for You! Come down to me or give me wings. I die either way, but let it be in the blazing light of Your glory. Be near to me!
