The sun is the source of all life on earth. Without it we would not exist. God, similarly is the source of our faith,no God no faith. The sun gives light to everything around it and so does God light up our lives. He brings to light our sins. He also lights up things Satan is trying to hide from us and do against us. The Son, Jesus is also God, though in a lesser form than God the Father. So the Son and the sun are similar.
Between the tropics of Cancer and Capricorn are the hottest parts of earth. The area teeming with most wild life. They experience most of the suns heat and light, with the sun passing over the equator twice yearly. They have equatorial and tropical rainforests brimming with trees, plants, animals, butterflies, insects, fish, etc.. Some magnificent, colourful specimens of life. Those living nearest to God also have the privilege of abundant living. Being hot in their faith. The sun shines on all mankind and does not discriminate. Sunshine is free. Jesus died for many people and will accept anyone who accepts him. He offers free salvation.
The sun gives light and enables me to see where I am going and what is around me. Walking with God enables me to see where I am going and what He wants me to be doing. Absence of light is night and absence of God is evil, sin, and darkness. If the sun were taken away, the earth would not be able to orbit around it and life would stop on earth. If it were possible to not have God, life would be spiritual death with no God to centre life around.
During a total eclipse the moon precisely blots out the sun. Sometimes Satan is like the moon, appearing to some as the same as God. Also getting in the way of God and temporarily blocking him out. The moon normally gives off reflected light from the sun and changes its distance from the earth, as well as its luminosity. Satan, the false god also frequently changes. Sometimes violent, passive, deceptive, pretending to be god. Like the moon Satan has no light or life of his own. He only pretends he has.
The sun is so great. Only a tiny portion of its light falls on earth at any moment, but we are often grateful for good weather. Just think how much more light radiates in every other direction. God is awesome.
