On Monday, September 19, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Northside Baptist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina, I was blessed to see a movie presentation(which was more like a documentary) of the findings of a team of enthusiasts who climbed Mt. Ararat in eastern Turkey in search of an usual discovery.
They took one woman along, and they braved the cold, the thin air, the ice chunks, slippery and wet conditions, the snow, the fear of being buried alive in the cave, the fear of avalanches, the steep cliffs, the ice, the volcanic rocks, the darkness, the cramped spaces, the boulders, the dangers, and the life threatening conditions to climb a mountain and to bring us a video taping of what they and several authorities believe to be the actual Noah’s Ark.
Yes, the Bible tells us of 8 people who survived the devastating flood.
“Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.” Genesis 6:9
“In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah’s wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark…” Genesis 7:13
“And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh..” Genesis 7:15
“And the rain was upon the earth forty days and forty nights.” Genesis 7:12
I took notes and eagerly listened to the Asian host, Clara Wei, Creative Director of Sparkling Sun Int’l Ltd. in Hong Kong. I was saddened to see/ hear the negativity/ doubts of unbelievers.
They didn’t believe in Jesus’ day; they do not believe today.
They mocked believers in the past; they continue to mock and ridicule believers today.
They did not believe that He arose from the grave. Maybe, someone paid the Roman soldiers……
They do not believe in the proof of the Ark presented before their very eyes. They believe today that someone carried the wood pieces up there on Mt. Ararat.
At the end of the showing, questions were asked by audience members. I took the microphone and told the audience that I was a student at New Life Theological Seminary in Charlotte, and I gave my review from my notes.
I told them that I believe that these explorers have found Noah’s Ark.
“Brilliant! Hopeful! Mesmerizing! Life Changing and Prophetic! A Must See with Amazing Graphics!
I thanked the group for coming. No one else did.
“And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth…” Genesis 6:5
