Hebrews 6:17, 18.
God also bound himself with an oath, so that those who received the promise could be perfectly sure that he would never change his mind. So God has given both his promise and his oath. These two things are unchangeable because it is impossible for God to lie. Therefore, we who have fled to him for refuge can have great confidence as we hold to the hope that lies before us.
Whenever we go all out, propelled by divine desperation and holy indignation, to get God's attention on certain pressing issues of life, the LORD definitely responds! His positive response is certain because He promised that we would find Him if we searched for Him with all our hearts - wholehearted search! - Jeremiah 29:11-14. He also promised that every diligent seeker of God is entitled to a reward! - Hebrews 11:6. He continued by promising that when we call on Him, he will definitely answer, and that his answer will reveal to us great and mighty things that we do not know, Hallelujah! - Jeremiah 33:3. Faithfulness is God's very character!
Now, we must understand that though the LORD promised to answer, He doesn't always answer immediately. That's why in a service or meeting, some people receive their miracles immediately while others seem to be ignored. God doesn't ignore anyone who asks His help earnestly! Psalm 9:12-For He (God) who avenges murder cares for the helpless. He does not ignore those who cry to Him for help.
Consequently, it becomes obvious that if we don't receive the answer immediately, then we are expected to wait for its definite manifestation, because God can never lie!
Then Abraham waited patiently, and he received what God had promised.
For since the world began, no ear has heard, and no eye has seen a God like you, who works for those who wait (seek) for him!
The waiting referred to in these scriptures in not simply sitting around passively, wondering when God will do it, or simply resting on our oars! No, it actually means waiting on God's needs, instructions and responses, just like the waiter at the restaurant waits on customers. When the answer is delayed, then we know it's time to wait some more on our Master's needs. In other words, it's time increase and improve our services to the LORD of lords and King of kings, by affirming his Words continually, which also means meditating on God's Words. It’s also time to ensure our prompt and absolute obedience to the promptings of the Holy Spirit, who leads, guides, helps and teaches us all things.
Waiting is a time to pray more, not only for you but for others as well, which is referred to as intercession. This level of praying merges our hearts and wills with God's ultimate divine agenda for humanity. It is selfless praying. This is the beginning of powerful prophetic intercessions, giving birth to prophetic utterances and manifestations. We become one with God and His global plans, programs and purposes, always in the majority, Hallelujah!
This very important time of waiting on the LORD, is time to do some more personal fasting coupled with night vigils (staying awake through the night) to pray, bind and rebuke those nasty, insidious devils to sleep! Yes! What I'm saying is that it's time to compel the Devil himself; I'm talking of Lucifer, Satan himself; to add your name to the holy terrorists, terrorizing hell! Of course you're qualified! - Acts 19:13-20. This is also the time to ensure absolute faithfulness in all we do; especially whatever affects the Kingdom of God. Put together a library of good powerful Christian books for yourself on every subject that affects your well being. This is a time to share the gospel and embark on humanitarian programs to the glory of God. Acts 10:38.
A time to wait on God's ultimate intervention is a trying time, there's no better time to be extremely cautious! Guide your tongue, control your temper and watch your emotions. God's watching you very closely! Remember, you're passing through, this condition is NOT permanent. You're undertaking a destiny altering and life changing examination! There's no testimony without a test. Though God already knows your shortcoming, your willingness to turn a new leaf should be demonstrated by your wholehearted repentance. Jesus' blood cleanses us from all sin. God wants us to advance & mature in wisdom, knowledge and understanding in our dealings with Him and for Him. Be strong and pass the test, there's great promotion just ahead! 2Sam.16:5-14; Isa.43:1-4; 1Pet.1;7-9; 2Pet.1:3-11.
He (Abraham) did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. And therefore “it was accounted to him for righteousness.”
Abraham shut the mouth of unbelief, doubt and anxiety by giving glory to God! - Meaning by continually affirming, confessing and praying what God's Word says and not what his and Sarah's old, wrinkled and barren bodies were saying! God is highly honoured and glorified when we keep declaring what He says over what we feel or what people say! This is how we wait on the LORD because this is how to renew, refine and prepare our hearts for the inevitable arrival of God's promise to His sons/daughters, heirs and saints!
Waiting is not physical passivity, but intensive spiritual activity! Consequently, our heart, mind and body in great expectation, synchronizes with God's infallible promise and accurate agenda! At this point, no devils or their cohorts can abort, steal or delay the glorious, stupendous manifestation of our expectation, Hallelujah! Then the scriptures get fulfilled once again, and this time it's just for you, when it says:-
For surely there is a reward; and thy expectation shall not be cut off.
Have a marvelous day in God's awesome presence.
