Oftentimes with good intentions we plan, build and then wait to see the manifestations of our plans only to miss the process of “discovering God” as it was ordained for us. Our education, experience or advice of those around sometimes takes preeminence of our pre-ordained godly success.
As stated in Matthew 7:7-8, 7)Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8)For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. God wants us to come to Him to ask what shall I do and how shall I do it. He will then send us on a discovery mission to showcase His wisdom, majesty, splendor and power and then we shall find our expected end.
If we set our plans on utilizing the tools that we have gained through our logic and manmade rules we miss those things hidden by God that only He can show us. There is nothing wrong with gaining through education, experience, etc. What I am speaking of is that we do not negate the one who has made all things. We should allow Him to show us and tell His story. Walking in this discovery process is should be as a child going on a like a roller coaster ride. Let’s look at the process of the roller coaster:
First you prepare to go to the fairgrounds to get on this huge ride. You have asked your parents to go over and over again in full anticipation. Of course within yourself your anticipation radar is off the hook. You have arrived at the fairground and you behold the “triple decker loop the loop roller coaster. Finally, the ride is so high that you have to look up to get a full glimpse of this ride. When it’s God’s vision it is always bigger than you can contain and you will “need” God to accomplish it.
Second, you will have to pay for the ride. You know that there will be a cost for the ride. Many times God allows you to come through processes so that you will understand the cost of some assignments and the cost of life so that we will always look toward Jesus as the One that paid the price.
Third, your time comes to get on the ride and you are escorted to your seat and the overseer of the ride makes certain you are secured in your seat so that you enjoy the highs and lows of this awesome adventurous ride.
Fourth, you are headed slowly around the curves, up the slope, around the curves again and then the climax of the ride is at the very top. Just before reaching the top of the ride you get to see the view of the entire fairgrounds. If you did not get on this particular ride which is usually the tallest ride on the fairgrounds you could never see the view of “everything”. Only God can give you preview of the heights of your destiny. As we walk with God in obedience there is nothing that He will withhold from us.
Sometimes we ask to see things and to know things but we take the wrong vehicle to get to the place to see! We have asked to get on this ride. We have been given permission to go and now the climax of this adventure is upon us.
Lastly, we are at the top of the ride. We have had fun and yet at different points of the curves we might have gasped for breathe at the anticipation of the upcoming drop in the ride. We are at the top and we get to see the entire fairgrounds, the people, the excitement and it is beautiful. Now here comes the drop. Wow, my heart, my head, my emotions. I don’t know what to think. Should I laugh, should I scream, I don’t know what to make of this adventure. I am thinking that this ride has caused all of my set emotions to well up and react in an uncontrolled but joyful way. It was phenomenal. It was a fantastic ride….wow. Can I do it again?
God wants us to come as children, asking, seeking and knocking to “discover” the plans that He has for us. We thank God for all the man made plans that we have accomplished but let us not miss the adventure of our life with God! Discovering godly success is like a roller coaster ride sometimes. You have asked God, you have sought after the things of God and you are at the point of things being revealed and opened unto you that you FIND keys to your destiny. That you also find keys to why you are here and what you are designed to do. You are excited, you hit some curves, you reach some highs and lows and then you reach the climax of your assignment and you then drop to safety to decide whether you will take the ride again.
Did you know your ride has been paid for through Jesus Christ…..oh, the plans that God has for you.
Plans of peace, plans to prosper you and to give you a future hope!
