“My life is continually in my hand, yet I do not forget Your law” [Psalm 119.109 NASB]
The choices we make in this life are determined by our priorities. David’s life and all that that constituted was at risk. There were many people depending upon David just as there are many people, present and future counting on you coming through successfully what you are experiencing. Your life is a valuable asset in the hand of God.
On the other hand, Satan’s philosophy is, “Skin for skin! All that a man has will he give for his life” [Job 2.4]. However, on the other hand, Paul said, “… My life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus … “[Acts 20.24 NLT]. Are we able to confirm in our inner man, Paul’s words and sentiments?
In David’s situation, the base of his faith was rooted not in the words of man but in the being of God.
In the Revelation, Jesus is portrayed before us as the faithful One [Rev. 19.11]. Our circumstances will change, occasionally for the worst, our commitment will go deeper and the level of our faith will be tested over and over again, but regardless of everything we experience, we are always depending on the unchanging character of the I Am.
