As we remember 9/11 this month, let us not lose sight of God’s care and compassion for us. We are His people and He cares deeply for us. More than we will ever be able to grasp.
His Son died for us. Jesus was God and man; John says He was the image of God and yet He was born of woman. He came to “seek and save” those who are lost. Bound up in sin and despair, walking in darkness, Jesus came into my life and your life to give light. In the light we saw our sinfulness and He gave His life to redeem us from our sin.
His Son rose again from the dead. As Lazarus was three days in the earth and Jonah was in the belly of the great fish, so Jesus also spent time in the cold, dark earth; but when the time was right, He came forth from the grave to show us that life was in Him, and that life was the life we too could share.
His Son is with God. Jesus said He was going away but would send the comforter-the Holy Spirit. His Son lives with the Father and in us who belongs to Him.
His Son is returning. Jesus is coming back for those of us who belong to Him. He will return for us one day and I will be ready. Are you?
Yes, many lives were lost on 9/11 but God was there and the cross rose from the shambles to reveal Christ gives life-abundantly.
