Little baby Jesus
And Jesus matured, growing up in both BODY and SPIRIT-Luke 2:52 TM
In the movie Talladega Nights Ricky Bobby, the main character makes reference of a little baby Jesus while he and his family are attempting to say grace. In an effort to correct Ricky, his wife tells him that he doesn't always have to call Him baby because He did in fact grow up. Of course, this didn't sit well with Ricky because he preferred the Christmas Jesus best.
What if baby Jesus had never became a man? Could you imagine what life would actually be like? Thank goodness that God intended for Jesus to grow from a baby into a man, who would later become the ultimate sacrifice.
If God sensed that Jesus, His only begotten son needed to develop and ripen, then why wouldn't we as wondering sheep need to mature as well? In Ephesians 4:15 the Bible tells us that we are to grow up in EVERY way. This means that all parts (mind, body, soul and spirit) MUST evolve (to develop or achieve gradually) into that of which God has knit us out to be.
When we were children, we spoke, thought and reasoned as children but now that we've grown up let us cast off all childish ways and things.
