That the i has been taken out of sin,for Christians, and replaced by the Son,is a well known phrase.
That it speaks of the true ,deeper life with God,is not as well understood,I think.
Paul gave us insight into his inner life and motivation when he said;'I am crucified with Christ, never the less I live, yet not I, but Christ lives in me'
Jesus expressed the same thing, saying to the disciples;'the Father who is in me,He does the works'.
And what about that surprising verse of Colossians 3v3;'for you have died, and your life is hid with Christ in God'.
That puts paid to me calling myself,in the present,a sinner saved by grace.Yes I was a sinner, but now I have died!Dead people can not sin!
And if my life is hid with Christ in God,that does not leave much room for sin either.
Here we begin to see the deep, mysterious, but none the less true, christian life that Jesus gave to us in his suffering, death, burial and resurrection.
Thanks be to God for His unspeakable gift.
