Don’t tell me what words to say
Don’t count the number of poems I write each day.
Don’t go on fixing every piece of grammar.
The mistakes I make don’t need a clamor.
Don’t tell me how many lines to this poem
Don’t arrange it, just leave it alone!
Don’t quiz me on writing just because I’m a CPT;
Nor challenge my passion for poetry.
Don’t try to look for every context clue;
Changing tones and words are easy for me to do.
Stop dotting the Is and crossing the Ts,
I don’t remember asking for your scrutiny.
I will no longer cry when my mind goes blank.
Everyone, at times, lose inability to think.
I know my writing can seem out of control,
But the true meaning why I write has not yet been told.
Though you may find this to be a little annoying,
Others tend to take my poetry as enjoying.
I’ve been studying poetry for over four years;
The different styles and stanzas have led me to tears.
My passion has grown by watching and reading about others
Writing poetry, based on what I see, helps me to recover;
Recover from the feeling of not being appreciated,
The respect from the reader, I have patiently waited.
When you see me angry or close to losing my mind,
A pen and a notebook, please help me to find.
Writing down my feelings, helps me to calm down.
The calm and collective Carl is a cool person to be around.
You see, I’ve been doing my thing for such a long time,
That I can write any style of poetry without a rhyme.
If you read my poems, you’ll know me very well
My attitude and personality is expressed in detail.
There may be things that I am yet know about
Learning about life comes with its doubts.
I’m young, intelligent, and free to make decisions;
Don’t hold me back or become a collision.
My last poem, I desired to be good.
I believe it turned out the way it should.
For future poets with a passion like me,
Don’t misjudge them, but accept them wholeheartedly.
