I watched when you tried
to take your first step,
faltering, wobbling and
needing some help;
in all your successes
and in all your falls
I have been with you
seeing it all.
Who whips a baby
when it’s trying to walk?
Who scolds a child
who is learning to talk?
Indeed, do you not
in the effort rejoice
giving praises many
with love in your voice?
Am I a Father less than
you are? Do I for My
children have less care?
I rejoice in your efforts
to do the right things
and when you succeed,
O how My heart sings.
When at the times you
trip and fall, I rush to
your side, extra help to
provide. As long as your
heart is turned to do right
and you care to be pleasing
in My sight, the falls that you
take, occasionally, are your
learning curve in becoming
like Me.
So My little child,
keep walking toward Me.
