I am finding as I try to grow closer to the Lord, that He is helping me realize, that all of my joy comes from Him. I know God cares about laughter and good times with family and friends. He is what has blessed me with those things. I also believe there is joy in the tough times too.
If we stop and think about it, God is in control of everything. All our blessings are from Him, all our mistakes, He can turn around and still use it for His glory. He watches over our kids. Our parents, our finances, He provides for our needs. He has promised to never leave us and has given us an eternal home forever.
So, if we know God has all this under control, completely trusting Him, what do we have to take our joy? There will always be times that are tough. Our faith may be shaken, or we stop to think, Oh Lord, what will we do now? I choose not to linger there, but to take God at His word and the promises He has given us. When we can learn to do that, there is a joy unspeakable.
My greatest joy is being in His presence. Wow, what a glorious experience. A time away from the world, just me and Him. Loving on Him and letting Him change me into what He wants me to be. In those moments, my world is transformed, there is nothing to hard for God and I am a princess sitting at the Kings feet. I always say, once I hit my knees, I never come up the same. What a joy to go into His presence and come out knowing everything is going to be okay. There lies my true joy in the Lord.
Matthew 25:23
His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’
