Let me first state that I accidentally ran across this site and have since deemed this, not as a coincidence, but truly as a divine intervention from above. What comes of this is to a degree irreverent, but to share similarities can often be rewarding unto its own. What has caught my attention lately is the sappiness of Christian radio. It often supports heavily my vision and beliefs but not the knowledge of circumstance that most find themselves in today. To tell you of my past would take from you, valuable time. Let's just say it's filled with all the elements needed for a blockbuster film but with undertones of Christian strengths mixed with various amounts of struggle, joy with an abundance of pain, happiness with segments of sadness and
lifelong failures with a strong will to overcome adversity. My professional life has taken me from the lush green hills of North Carolina to the unreality world of Hollywood and due to circumstances beyond my control, back to those lush green hills where I find myself serving in the capacity of Marketing Manager for
a top 100 NC company. This, however is not my divine destiny. What God has allowed me to see in humanity, both domestic and internationally, has brought from within me a desire to speak out against the "push button" faith and
"instant Godly gratification" with a hard pressed quest to write a book called
"why are we becoming so passive." My life has been one of adventure, no doubt.
With years of creative ideas now burning deep within, I seek to put my talents,
my experiences and my God before me in exchange to seek change in peoples lives.
I made it through and continue to forge ahead despite the many obstacles that
stood and will stand before me. Faith is more than just believing, its a called
out "action" to believe. I superseded a lot of odds that were against me. Yes I
got mad, angry, yelled at God, through fits of rage and then collapsed in a dark
corner knowing He was still there waiting for me to become silent once again.
The spirit within me, His spirit, would never leave.
At the moment my plans are to act on an idea brought about by bouts of
challenges against the very people that take to the airways across America. As a
past and current ...(take a breathe here)... Cinematographer, Editor,
Videographer, Director, Still Photographer, Graphic Designer, Web developer and
Interactive Multimedia Producer, I'm bringing all this to the table and letting
God sort out what to use and not use to accomplish my reasoning for being here
under His will. The ideas are many but most recently I'm leaning toward a story,
a movie, a series, or perhaps just a documentary, based around a fictitious
radio station that serves the people the way we as realist Christians, living in
a realist Christian world, face each and every day. The basis of the story is
similar to a call in talk show but Christian based in theme only and not as some
sappy morning Christian radio show where we hear every 10 minutes about the host
and her kids who have the flu and seemingly her life is now turned upside down
due to the fact that little Amy will miss two whole days of school...lets all
pray! Im not being cynical and just speaking out for the millions out there
who can't relate both Christian and non Christian. As a single parent for 17
years I know. The hurt I feel is for the hurt I know THEY are feeling out there
somewhere..everywhere! Instead of the little Amy's out there who caught the flu
and now has to endure the agony of two missed days of school, I think we may
have a caller on line three that many will relate to. Unlike Amy she quit school
and now finds her home on the street and the thing that excites her at the end
of the day, is not her parents coming home bringing joy and comfort but its the
needle stuck in her arm bringing her salvation in her mind.
In closing I just want to create something that modern day Christian media has
failed to do, do some degree. You and I know that most of the mainstream
Christian media overlook the reality of the world and the people in it in
exchange for preaching to their own with small warnings to the outside parish
that Hell is all but their fate without realizing that to reach them they must
be touched but most importantly UNDERSTOOD! With my experience form working in
Hollywood I have learned what NOT to do. The reason for writing may be
somewhat unclear but I felt a need to express to another the understanding that
I truly understand. If I can be of
any assistance in any way or perhaps you would see a connection within my
adventures please write. I would look forward hearing with you.
