May this message be an atonement from me to you.
I want to express my love before my time is through.
I know at times I hurt the ones dearest to my heart
Many times I allowed silly things to tear us apart.
Far too many times diplomacy was not on my mind,
Certainly wisdom was not used when I chimed.
I don't claim to be perfect and God knows I'm not
But my Lord made me bold and he did cast my lot.
Sometimes I say things you think sounds a bit harsh.
No matter what, I still love you with all my heart.
I have to admit I'm not shy to say what I think
And I suppose there are times I take it to the brink.
While there are times you may not have understood,
You certainly never had to guess where I stood.
Tact many times was greatly lacking and not smart.
Still my love for you has never, ever left my heart.
