Many times we experience the blessings from our God but forget to give thanks to Him. Our Almighty Father has blessed us in so many wondrous ways that we can never imagine. Throughout the day He watches over us. Psalmist David says that we are the apple of God’s eye. God says that we are much more valuable than sparrows. He says that the hair on our head itself is numbered. There are so many times in our lives that when we go through trials, we feel that God is not with us. We feel that He has left us all alone to suffer. But finally when we reach the end we see that God has kept the best of the best for us at the goal point. When we walk through the fire God carries us in His arms. Even when we feel alone & cry out, God is there with us holding us in His arms, keeping us safe under the protection of His wings.
In times of trouble we cry out to God innumerable times asking Him to save us, to free us from the burden we are carrying. But not even once do we think what our Christ went through during the crucifixion. Each time I face a problem in life, Jesus keeps reminding me saying ‘Child, I went through the same thing and much worse than this; so don’t worry, I’m there by your side’. That sentence gives me the peace I need then & there. Once the problems are over, we forget to even thank God so many times. Each day if we closely scrutinize our lives there are so many things that we have to be thankful for. Every morning when so many people in different parts of the world die, God gives us one more chance to live. When we travel He keeps us safe from all dangers. He sees that not even a single part of our body is harmed. Psalms 121:7 says “The LORD will keep you from all harm,He will watch over your life”. Our Lord is watching over our lives. So neither do we have to be scared of anything in this world, nor do we have worry over any trials that we face. But every time a trial comes up we just tend to forget this promise. We forget that our God is mighty to save us.
In life when we give ourselves to God, when we ask Him to take over our lives and let His will take place; we see that the best is always there for us. But this happens very rarely. Many a times we tend to take decisions in our lives, without even asking God what His will is. When this happens we not only give up on the chance of experiencing God’s best, we also end up in difficult situations. Then we tend to cry out to God to save us from those situations. Life is never easy but when our life is handed over to God, and ask Him to control every area of our life, we get the courage that we need to face the trial. God wants every child of His to remember that He has called each one of us by our names and He will not leave us nor forsake us. “Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine. When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.”(Isaiah 43:1,2)
So let us give thanks to the Lord for His goodness and praise Him for His mercy endures forever.
Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name.
Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefit
