Do you applaud yourself for being clever/smart or quick witted?
Have you ever been considered a smart Alec?
Or you simply gaze in awe and astonishment when you meet someone who exhibits quick wits and smartness in a brazen way?
Do you ever wonder at some people who just find it so easy to always say the smartest things or those who never get caught on the spot when they are confronted by a cynic or a nasty tongue but would immediately reply a snide remark with an even more sarcastic answer and statement as if they had been practicing this for eon.
You think these ones must have learnt this special skill somehow…it’s not as if those who can’t are dumb?
Do people need to go to special schools, acquire special knowledge or these ones are simply just BORN THAT WAY?

The Bible has a different view on man’s wit and intellect, it enjoins us to ask for wisdom above man’s intellect and knowledge, to ask of Him who made it all… James 1:5
If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Daniel 2:21 He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.
James 3:17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.
Proverbs 2:6 For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
Proverbs 3
5Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.
6In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
7Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
8It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones.
PROVERBS 12
8Vanity of vanities, saith the preacher; all is vanity.
9And moreover, because the preacher was wise, he still taught the people knowledge; yea, he gave good heed, and sought out, and set in order many proverbs.
10The preacher sought to find out acceptable words: and that which was written was upright, even words of truth.
11The words of the wise are as goads, and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies, which are given from one shepherd.
12And further, by these, my son, be admonished: of making many books there is no end; and much study is a weariness of the flesh.
13Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
