I had went to prayer on a Tuesday evening. All I could do was praise the Lord and thank Him for His diving protection. Little did I know it was for the next day. I went on my paper route at 4a.m. Soon as I left my house, I was driving down the street and a car came out of a side street and almost hit me broadside. My son was lying down in the backseat. This car proceeded to follow me and almost hit me from behind twice. As soon as I thought he backed off from me at a redlight, he came flying over the railroad tracks and was coming up fast behind me. I realized he was fixing to pass me. I got this really bad feeling he was fixing to run me off the road. I held the steering wheel tight with both hands and began to plead the blood of Jesus over and over. I could see through my rearview mirror it was a tall man driving a small geo car. As he started to pass me, he kept going left and next thing I knew I heard a loud crash and I seen the car lights going upward. I stopped the car and went back. As I approached, the car had went into a driveway and hit a pine tree and the car was pointing upward in the tree. I got out of my car instinctively and began to try to open the car door. All of them were locked except the drivers. There were 3 men in the car. The driver was slumped over the steering wheel and the other two were not moving. I automatically laid hands on the driver and started praying. He started moaning. The ambulance came quickly. As I went around the car, the guy in the back was moaning, I laid my hands on his stomach and began praying. When I pulled my hand away, there was blood on my hand. The guy in the passenger seat wasn't moving. By then the ambulance was there and they got him first because they said he was the worst. Til this day, I don't know what became of these three men, but I was traumatized for about 3 days afterward. I kept hearing the crash of the car, and seeing the lights pointing upward.
I think about this all the time, how God is our awesome protector. He loves us so much. There isn't no telling what these 3 men had in mind, or what they were going to do. I never thought twice about praying for them, it was instinct. Even though I knew they meant me evil, I couldn't stand the fact that they could've died and went to hell. I often think about them and what happened. Maybe I'll never know. I pray they eventually gave their lives to the Lord if He peradventure spared their lives.
Sometimes when we're in prayer and we don't know why we're praying like we are. Or maybe wonder why prayer is so intense. It could very well be for our own lives or someone elses. Thank you Jesus for all you done for me and my son.
Another time I was leaving on my route, I walked out my front door and a man came around my vehicle towards me. As soon as he seen me, he threw his hands up in the air and started backing up all the way to the street. He kept saying,"I'm not going to hurt you mamm. All I could do was just stand there with my hand on the door. It was like I was holding him at gunpoint, but I know it had to be an angel with me that night and all he seen was the glory.
How could anyone not want to serve a God like that? When I'm down and discouraged, I think on all the things He's done and kept me from. May we remember at all times what the Lord has done.
