Normal Saturday, usual weekend . Its been a hectic week and Saturday was a respite.
My daughter , all of eight years , was happy in her own world of drawing, coloring , occasionally glancing at the TV and just happy in the thought that Mamma was there next to her .There was no conversation , just occasional questions on some random topic .
A nice lunch and a quick afternoon siesta completed the day and evening set in. My little one was curled up on the sofa, just watching TV, which is very unusual. She watches TV standing or jumping around the living room.
I realised that all’s not well when I checked on her. A nagging tummy ache was the culprit. She downed her medicine and sat down again .She took ill very soon and drained herself out by throwing up. Seemed like a stomach bug… Doc on the phone suggested medicines to last the night and “ watch the symptoms “ mode.
The little one was exhausted but never complained. I knew as an adult how much I would have if I had retched the way she had. She gets back into the bed under her blanket, looks at me and says” Mamma , I am sorry I am putting you through all this trouble, I know you have a problem with your elbow and struggling with the pain , I am adding to that, ” made me speechless and I had gather my wits to tell her that its perfectly fine.
That evening in the words of my child, I saw a world of wisdom and sensitivity which was so amazing . She is my angel….. Love her
