AT THE CROSS
At the cross you gave your life for me, not once did you reconsider
Even though you knew how I`d fail you chained and broken in my fetters
Your love transcends what I cost you, my networth could never measure up in gains
All the pain and disappointment that I cause you but you love me just the same
Your not in this for the short term and a profit you expect
But that profit is not for you Lord but it’s you that is a profit to your elect
For you gather up all my shortcommings that I traded at the cross
And you breathed into me a new life no matter what the cost
And from that moment forward you’ll always walk with me
Teaching me a new life in a body that’s now free
Free from all the chains of my addictions, free from all my fears
Free from all my people pleasing and the shame that followed me throughout the years
Slowly you strip away the walls I built, a stronghold steeped with many stories
And you show me who I really am stripped of all your glory
Piece by piece, you rebuild me, from the rubble that was my life
Creating something beautiful from my struggles and my strife
For within all my trials you mold me to your will
Remaking me into your image, a vessel to be filled
With your holy spirit that searchs high and low
For the chance to be your heart, your hands, that help others now to grow
And beckon them toward the light that shines forever from the cross
Acting as your lighthouse a beacon to the lost
I guide them unto you Lord and place them in your hands
Knowing they are safe now and standing on dry land
