Take this bitter cup of sorrow, is that too much to ask? I find my heart close to these words this morning. The pain of my mother burns in me. Watching her deteriorating into slowness of thought bring sorrow to my life. Please take this cup of sorrow from my life.
Learning how to navigate affliction, is not instinctive it is the process of life. A part of our walk of faith adjusting to sorrow is God’s way to strengthen the spirit. In times of adversity, prayer is the only practice to relieve a grieving spirit.
As in Matthew Ch 26-38-44 Jesus the Redeemer prayed for His “soul is crushed with grief” and took His disciples out to Gethsemane to pray. In times of great despair, prayer soothes the flesh and spirit. Money and Fame will not, Power and BFF’s will not, change in your environment will not, only prayer can work into calm. Remember, if you are worrying you’re not praying.
