Life After Death

Can you really be discouraged
But not know what about?
Or is this just one more attack
Of penned up fear or doubt?

My heart is not convicting me
Of something I’ve done wrong
Then why such pain and anger
When I should be feeling strong?

I don’t know where it’s coming from
This troubles me the most
Just like I have a blazing fire
With nothing I can roast

I passed a deer along the road
The stench was hard to bare
I felt there was a message
Was it something I could share?

If all my pain and suffering
Would only gain me Christ
And if my corpse laid in the street
For three days and three nights

How blessed would it be
When He breathed in me life again?
And I could stand upon my feet
And rise up with my Friend
