Who puts water into a cracked glass? Isn’t the glass to hold the content that is poured into for purposeful use? Why does humanity pouring its content into money, social media, power, sex, and things of less importance?
The guidebook of life, God’s Word (Bible) recount stories of Him rescuing His people, at first dedicated to Him and over time abandons their loyalty to worship idols. Contradiction and Hypocrisy will always pull you down. Was it not God who created the fountain of living water, strengthen our belief in One God.
It is the transitory hopes and dreams of our minds and misplaced pleasures of flesh that fill cracked cistern. Never holding the body of life, faith, and right-living, stain with sin that can’t be washed with the strongest cleaners.
Sin that runs beyond skin-deep requires spiritual cleansing into the heart. An item that Jesus the Christ worked on the cross. We are not able to ignore the effects of sin and hope we can clean it away. That is a job for God.
