By faith the people passed through the Red Sea as on dry land; but when the Egyptians tried to do so, they were drowned.
Faith can make us walk in impossible places. Faith can make us stand in places where others would simply sink.
You remember Peter walking on water? He said to Jesus, 'if it is You, bid me to come to You on the water.' And Jesus simply said to him: come! By the authority of that one word alone the man started walking on water!
Friend, as we start the second half of this year, all you need from Jesus is just one word and it will suffice throughout the year. Irrespective of which season you may be in, the word coming from the Lord of the seasons will see you through.
Peter started to sink only when he attempted to walk by sight. The elements around him caught his attention. The moment he shifted his gaze from Jesus, he started to sink. It is not possible to walk by faith and not focus our attention on Jesus.
From the passage at the top, it is exciting to see that the only reason the Egyptian army attempted to walk on the dry bed of the Red Sea was because they saw the Israelites do same. They walked by sight. What they didn't know was that the Israelites were walking by faith. The walk of faith is different from the walk of sight.
As we are in the second half of 2011, were there things you believed God for which you are yet to see the manifestation? Are you now tempted to start 'helping' God out by trying to find solution to your situation your own way?
Only the walk of faith will make you progress where everyone else is sinking. Only the walk of faith will make you enter your rest where others are buried.
In 2011, walk by faith. It is the only way I know you will make it.
Lord, help the person reading this to make the decision to embrace the walk of faith in order to live a fulfilling life.
Thank You blessed Lord for going beyond our wildest imagination to enable us walk with You through faith. We love You Lord. Amen!
