Love can light a candle in the dark
Love can bring a song to a lip sealed with tears;
Love can hang a sun in the midnight sky
Love will light your candle in the storm.
When your way leads downward
And the path is rocky;
When the sun sets
And your candle is burnt out.
You may walk the cold, dark lane of regret
Looking for a heart in which to shelter;
You may be weak from the battle of life
Returning like a soldier, disarmed and defeated.
Nights there are, when eagles fail to soar
And lions get so weary, they cannot roar.
Even when all the world gives up on you
Love will light your candle in the dark.
I can hear the sound of your heart breaking;
I can bathe in the torrents of your tearfall
Though your dreams have fallen apart
And your world looks like a broken egg on the floor…
Love will light a candle in the dark
Love will bring a song to a lip sealed with tears
Love will hang a sun in the darkened midnight sky;
Love will light hope again in your life
Love will light a candle even in the storm.
