EXCERPT FROM MY PLAY "WHEN THE MUSIC STOPS"
By Gillian M. Henriques
Bianca enters
Bainca: Leave him alone. Let him die. He wanted to.
Shakira: No (Frantic and teary eyed)
Bianca: He said it was better for him. He told me. He wanted to die.
Shakira: No, you did this.
Mark: Let’s get him to a doctor quick.
Bianca: (Screaming) Leave him alone. Let him die.
Shakira: Why are you doing this? ( Just then the voice of the old woman played in her head “Him, you never know, may be closer than you think, may be standing at your right hand, giving you advice. Be careful”). Who are you?
Mark: Leave us alone
Bianca: Let him die
Shakira: Who are you?
Bianca: Let him die, it is his time
Shakira and Mark: No
Bianca: He is going to die. (Maniacal laugh)
Mark: He will not die, He will not die. (Emphatically as if pronouncing it)
Shakira: Oh Lord, O Lord help us
Mark: Help us, Jesus help us
A voice offstage called
Voice: Open up, did someone call 911.
Bianca runs offstage.
The lights go out.
