Our ultimate goal
Should be to be like Him
Where there is no more struggle
And no more power to sin
Where we just bask in his presence
With joy and peace divine
Knowing that this eternal
As it will last for all time
People are trying to be complete
In all the externals that the devil does feed
When the truth of the matter is so simple
As it is just His Spirit that we must allow to lead
We look here and we look there
Trying to find that completeness inside
When the answer stares us right in the face
Though about the things of God, we tend to run and hide
The deception of the flesh is so very real
Thinking that we can satisfy our hunger there
We must learn that it is in only by His Spirit
That a relationship with God we may share
If people really knew what can be
They would run to the Lord continually
The problem is that many just do not know
As this they have never experienced or had eyes to see
Once you taste of the Lord
And know what can be
The devils lies and temptations
Will no longer concern thee
When we know the truth
The truth will set us free
The truth is that in God’s presence
Is where we belong and life will come to be
It is not just when we get to Heaven
His kingdom comes down on earth
Yet many have never sensed His presence
They have just only experienced, new birth
There is no other substitute
That may fill this place
Once you have been in His presence
There is nothing more you will want to taste
Our ultimate goal then should be
To walk with the Lord continually
Led by His Spirit and walking in His power
Then and only then we will learn to be free.
