Living Waters

The Good News Tribune has worked for years speaking to those who could give account to monumental encounters with the presence and the people of God. This extensive research, and the results thereof could not be summarized in this one issue. However, to "wet" the appetites of our readers, we are releasing an exclusive look into reports from some who have met with Jehovah and with his children.

Red’s Story
I saw them walking fifteen across, a greatly favored people. They carried riches acquired from temporarily acquiescent foes, grateful to assist their exodus. Though they had the features of those who had endured hard labor, their gait shone proud, tall, and strong. Not one of them appeared feeble. Even the old stepped lightly. Lightly and swiftly, for their generous enemies pursued them. They exclaimed, “They are coming to regain the spoils that they have given unto us!”
As the mass moved toward me, my waves rocked harder. The presence of the Lord moved with this glorious multitude. I could feel my God come closer. They stood on my banks, some of them staring at me sullenly, some of them looking fearfully behind them. Pugnacious complaints errupted as many, edging towards rancor, waved their fists at their leader. The leader shushed them, turned his face toward Heaven, and stretched out his staff.
The mighty breath of the Lord plunged through my depths and gathered me smoothly into two parts exposing my floors to the sun. The thrilling sensation of the Creator’s presence held me at attention, and I stood steadfast in two parts as the multitude walked on dry ground. Their pursuers on their tail, they swiftly walked to the other side. The last one gained the opposite bank just as the last enemy entered my floor, and my Lord released his hold. Gravity instantly seized me, and I plummeted into my original position crushing the unsuspecting army.
Jordan’s Tale
The harvest often caused my substance to fill past the brink and overflow my banks. As I enjoyed this abundance, I encountered the Lord. A mighty multitude had camped out for three days in front of me. They had prepared for a journey; they had readied for a battle.
Their leader had even sent two of them across me. These men, faces set, came back with a happy report, for their leader rejoiced greatly at their return. I heard their mumbled excitement as the leader began to shout orders.
There were several among them with elegant garments spangled with precious stones. These men carried a golden box by two long polls connected at its base. They moved toward me first. As they moved, I could feel the earth beneath me tremble. These men carried the presence of God. They moved two steps into my wetness, and stood still.
The fire of God collected me sending me miles upstream and rendering earth to open air. I quivered in awe, unable to return to my original position as the men carrying the golden box moved to the middle of my expanse. They stayed there as the rest of the people walked to the other side on dry ground. The people marveled, for while to their left, I heaped up exposing the dry ground, on their right I continued to flow downstream.
Even after the people were across, the men and the box, and the presence of the Lord remained. The leader sent twelve men back to gather 12 stones from the place where the jewel clad men stood. After they made their selections, they returned the stones to the camp they were making on the other side. Then the leader himself returned to the middle and made a memorial of twelve more stones where the box carriers stood. When they stepped out of my bed, and onto the other bank, the fiery presence freed me, and once again, my waters came together. The memorial of stones remains to this day.
Galilee’s Account
I saw the Lord, speaking with the chosen ones on the banks of my shores. He regaled them with His words, and indeed, they were music to me as well. I watched as He taught them the ways of God for the entire day. When He dismissed the crowd, He looked out over me, and called His faithful to His side. “Let us go over to the other side,” I heard Him tell them. I swayed happily at this news. All of the men boarded the docked boat and set out to cross me.
The journey continued smooth and carefree as they floated across until mean winds attacked me. A treacherous storm rocked me rudely, and sent my water crashing into the ship as it teeter tottered to the edge of turnover. I wanted to fight against the storm, but was powerless over its force. I saw panic in the eyes of the men. They scurried back and forth lamenting unavoidable destruction. The Lord was nowhere in sight.
One of the men disappeared into the ship, and returned with Him. After questioning their lack of faith, He stood calmly facing the terror that troubled me, stretched forth his hand, and quieted the forceful storm with three simple words. “Peace, be still.” The fitful raging winds calmed, and I finished my transport of the men of God without incident.
