He fed five thousand with bread
And though five thousand is quite a lot
Those with hardened hearts considered it not
He healed the sick and spoke the truth
Though hardened hearts needed more proof…
We can certainly understand why
We read in Scripture of how Jesus Almost passed them by.
Instead, He chose to take a walk
And while His feet were on the sea, He began to talk
Holy words reaching into listening ears “Be of good cheer:
It is I; be not afraid”
Words as a balm … Soothing their troubles and fears.
How thankful we are to read of this account
Of all that was needed – a tremendous amount
For some to finally begin to receive
The blessed measure of faith
And the prayerful work of Christ
In order to humbly believe.
Based on Mark 6:45-52

Eyes that see and ears that hear all You have for me - that is what I pray, Lord Jesus, my Savior and Friend! May I never be that one to look upon Your back as You pass me by because I do not want what You have to give. Thank you, Julie, for such a poignant reminder to be on the alert with ready heart to receive the gracious blessing of faith our Jesus freely gives. (((HUGS))) Jody
