Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world! (John 1:29)
Part 4 ~ I Am Your Deliverer
As a result of leaders operating in their own will, the church has strayed from the principles of God and we have become blind to the cries of the people sitting in our pews and in our communities. To these individuals, the House of God is no longer a place of deliverance where people can come and receive healing. Instead, it’s a place where the weak are oppressed and caught in a religious web. Only certain ministries are promoted and hence we praise individuals who are brilliant at what they do and ignore those who need guidance to recognise and operate in their calling. Financial giving is encouraged but not accompanied with the relevant education necessary for believers to understand the importance of tithing and offering. They are no closer to God than the day they first walked into the church.
The depressed, needing to be released from depression, is still going home after each service as depressed as they came in. Those who are being abused are still not receiving the help they need. Those who have become dependent on alcohol and other dangerous substances are still slipping through the net. These individuals are still asking the question: ‘Where is this Jesus who takes away the sin of the world?’ Where is the Jesus you claim to be introducing me to? How come I can’t see Him? Is He real or just a fantasy? Are you just another impostor?
Leaders are put in place to prepare hearts to receive Jesus, just like John was sent to pave the way. We need to get back to our first love and become more concerned with souls than we are with the daily operation of the building and the church’s finances. The bills need to be paid, but when we are more concerned with the bills than we are with souls, we can easily become the oppressor to those in our midst. The Gospel then seems to be on sale and salvation appears to no longer be free. Why is that? Each time that God sends a message or healing via a messenger a, financial offering is expected in collection for such a one. For example: :
Speaker: ‘Stand up if you’ve received your healing today.’
The healed,.: (people standing and waving hands, some quietly thanking God.)
Speaker: ‘Bless the Lord…Now, if you’ve received a healing today, I want you to come and sow a seed into this ministry…all who have been blessed tonight come and give £10.00/$10.00 and God will multiply’
Praise Team: (Sings) “Give and it will come back to you…” A song based on scripture which has been proven, throughout the ages, by many believers who ‘give unto the Lord’. Not out of intimidation or a feeling of obligation but through the knowledge that giving is worship. The Scripture is then taken out of context when this beautiful song is used to validate such a statement.
Something is seriously wrong with that picture. Today, God is reminding us, according to his Word, to do things in His will. Observe the ways of Christ and free the people from captivity—teach them about tithes and offering and how to be good stewards of the money that God has blessed them with. Then once they start practising to give of their first fruits there will be enough in the storehouse to keep God’s work going. There will no longer be a need to take up three or four offerings in one service and using intimidation for individuals to recognise that giving is also worship. The Lamb of God came to save us from our sin. In so doing he freed us. It is time to release the chains and set the captives free.
We need a change of attitude in leadership for the work to continue according to God’s plan. If you are a leader who have been following tradition, contrary to the word of God, today God is saying to you: ‘My Child, let me teach you…’ go back to the Word of God, spend time studying His word and allow the Holy Spirit to feed you with the wisdom and understanding you need to lead His children out of captivity. Today God wants to restore you. He wants to move you away from an oppressor’s mentality to one of a compassionate heart that will feel the hurt and pain of His children and cater to their needs. ‘Behold the Lamb of God’ and you will have nothing to fear. He will be your guide and your eyes will be opened again. You will receive your deliverance. Once you are renewed, start teaching the flock to observe the ways of Christ.
A Message to the hurting:
You have been travelling with the hurt and pain for so long, that there is no room for worship. Your praise is fake! The Word of God says: ‘Behold the Lamb’-- observe the ways of Christ. See how He acts and pattern His way. As you walk in His footsteps you’ll begin to see much clearer; your praise will return and all the pain and hurt you now feel—the heartache, the resentment and bitterness that stirs up the anger within, will be released. You will be free…free from all that has been holding you back (the stuff that made you cry or so angry that it often takes courage to hold back the rage) God sees your pain and He feels your hurt and today He is saying: ‘You are free—just behold the Lamb of God.’
Now that you are free to worship Him in spirit and in truth; while you are worshipping, the weight is lifting. The abuse is no longer a chain holding you bound, for now you know how to forgive and accept forgiveness. You have received, accepted and extended forgiveness. Now you can praise God for His loving kindness and thank Him for your deliverance.
The temptation to lie has disappeared because your thoughts are Christ-like and you understand that the truth is what sets you free and to lie is to return to bondage. You understand that you need to put on the whole armour of God , knowing that truth is part of that armour. The urge to deceive is gone, the will to people-please is no longer there, and you no longer yield to your body’s desire to return to its old sinful nature .
Your past no longer hinders you from stepping into your future and accepting the life of abundance awaiting you. God promised you a full life (St. John 10:10). But until now, you’ve doubted it is for you. Now that you are walking in the light your abundance is in line and you now believe. Oh! What joy! What peace! When we surrender all to the Lamb of God! Everything falls into place and our life is beautiful again. So don’t miss out on the promise, surrender to Him today. ‘Behold! The Lamb of God…’
