I know you're perhaps trying to forget
The person I'd once known you to be.
I remember when you and I first met,
I knew you were a Christian--it was plain to see.
Come back to the person you were before.
I care too much for you, my friend, to cease to pray
For you, that God will very soon restore
You to the person I knew in past days.
I don't know exactly why you got off track,
But I know I'll never give up on you.
I always pray that you'll soon come back
To the faith, to be the person I once knew.
I'd love to tell you that one night
When I was about to fall asleep,
I thought of how the path you're on isn't right,
And as I thought, I started to weep.
You may have forgotten, but I still remember
The times we'd discuss the things of the Lord,
So I know of God's family you are a member.
Come back to church and go like you did before.
Jesus comforts my heart by letting me know
That you're just influenced by the world right now.
This comforts my heart, for I know
That one day you will come back somehow.
