I had a dream in which I was speaking to a woman about the Lord. I was saying to her that we have more than just “comfort” from knowing the Lord, but we have in us, the Comforter.
I thought on this quick dream sequence and thought how the Lord had come to not only give us the healing of the moment, more than a temporary comfort of the moment or for a little while, or a season, but came to give to us life, His life.
He came to give us Himself to be with us forever.
He came to give us life and life abundantly and it is His life that is in us.
It is His life in which we have a relationship with Him. He sent to us His Holy Spirit. He is here with us and promises us to be with us forever. Never leaving us or forsaking us.
When I think of people not knowing the Lord Jesus the one thing that sticks out and hurts my heart for them is that they do not know Him.
And yet the Lord Jesus gave all for us to have a new life in Him, sending to us His Holy Spirit. The Lord said He would be with us always. Knowing Jesus now as a relationship and not just head knowledge.
In loneliness those who don't know the Lord are in darkness and despair. Though He loves and cares for every soul. In trial without realizing to look to Him, we are in pain and feel without hope.
And though at times we feel these things, if we know the Lord, we know there is always hope.
He is always bearing us up in our trials, the strength we don’t have on our own. The hope that is in Jesus.
Always we can be looking to Him and know He hears and cares.
Others need to know that, too. And they need to know Him.
Without Him is great misery. But with Him is great compassion, healing, hope and life.
Forgiveness through Him for our multitude of sins.
A brand new life from Him given to us if we ask Him.
Not in a temporary thing.
But, Jesus Christ. Giving to us everything we need to live our lives in a newness of life through Him.
