WHAT WOULD I SAY
WHAT WOULD I SAY
What will I say to Jesus
On that judgment day?
Can I say, "I was home sleeping
While others met to pray/"
What will I say to my Lord
When he opens the book of my deeds?
Can I say, "I'm sorry Lord,
I was thinking only of my needs".
What will I say to my Saviour
With tears streaming down his cheek?
Will I have to say with bowed head -"No One",
When he says, "To whom did you speak?"
He will say, "Why did you not pray?
You knew I would supply your needs.
Yet you spoke of me to no one,
And ignored my heartfelt pleas.
What do you think your reward should be?
A bed of soft roses or a thorn filled tree?
I gave you your salvation free
And you would not do one thing for me.
