But I have pleaded in prayer for you-Luke 22:32 NLT
While listening to the radio at work, as I often do the song called Bizarre Love Triangle by New Order was played several times throughout the course of the day. Strangely enough this song stuck with me the entire day, mainly do to the chorus, which recites as: every time I see you falling I get down on my knees and pray. This immediately reminded me of what Jesus said to Simon when satan had asked if He could test all of the disciples.
I strongly believe that Jesus does indeed pray for us, especially when we begin drifting from the righteous path. This notion of mine is confirmed in Luke 23:34 (forgive them, Father for they know not what they do) when Jesus paused for a minute to pray for the unrelenting crowd that was in the midst of crucifying Him. Even though crucifying Jesus had to take place in order for the scripture to be fulfilled, Jesus still found it necessary to pray for that angry mob, just as He feels it's necessary to pray for you and I.
Remember what Jesus said-I am praying for them, but not for those who belong to this world. My followers belong to You (His Father) and I am praying for them.
