Title of Today’s Story: Patience Pays
Date: 3rd June 2011 (Friday)
Once upon a time there lived a little Christian boy named Paul. He had a pet bull dog that was always causing trouble.
Paul’s Mum told him to always put the dog on a leach especially when she had visitors around.
One day a visitor showed up at their house. He stayed for quite a long time talking to Paul’s Mum. It seemed as if he didn’t want to leave. Paul was angry because he badly wanted to play fetch with his dog but he couldn’t until the visitor was gone.
Paul was getting extremely bored. He had played all the video games in his room and finished them before. There was no interesting cartoon on cable and his best friend was on vacation with his parents on a camping trip where no cell phones or laptops were allowed so Paul couldn’t call or chat online with his best friend to ease his boredom. He was getting to the level of unbearable boredom where someone feels he would certainly die in the next few seconds if he doesn’t do something exciting.
That was it. Paul couldn’t take it anymore. Visitor or no visitor, he was going to play fetch with his dog.
Paul went to his bull dog and unleashed it. He was praying in his mind that the dog wouldn’t do anything stupid and he and the dog stayed in a part of the compound were the visitor and his Mum couldn’t see them, therefore Paul’s Mum didn’t know he had unleashed the dog.
Paul played fetch with his dog for five minutes and everything went well. He soon started to wonder what he was so worried about in the first place.
Paul was having fun. His boredom had gone.
In excitement he threw the Frisbee too far and it landed in an area where anyone who picked it could see the visitor. The dog had not known there was a visitor until it went to pick the Frisbee.
As the dog saw the visitor, it ran straight for the visitor’s butt and bit him hard.
Paul was in trouble.
After the visitor left angrily, Paul’s Mum told Paul that the visitor was actually a banker she wanted to get a loan from so she could start a new business. He was the only banker that saw potential in her business idea and was also putting her through some technical things she needed to know to start her new business.
Paul and his dog had cost his Mum a loan.
Paul was sent to bed without supper that night and the next morning, his Mum sold his dog.
Next time whenever Paul needed to exercise patience, he did his best to ignore any contrary feeling, no matter how strong it was.
The bible tells us a lot about perseverance. It is an important virtue. It is what Paul lacked. If Paul had it, no matter how bored he got he would have persevere and done the right thing (which is obeying his Mum and not playing with his dog while there was a visitor) no matter how much he wanted to play with his dog.
Q & A
1) Why was Paul’s Mum mad at Paul?
2) Why do you think Paul’s Mum made the rule that Paul was not allowed to play with his dog when a visitor was not around?
(a) Paul’s dog wasn’t friendly to visitors (b) Paul’s Mum wanted to punish Paul (c) Paul’s Mum just liked making rules

PRAYER OF SALVATION:
If you’ve been touched by what you just read and you’ve never given your heart to Jesus before but now want to become a Christian, please say this prayer and mean it with all your heart.
“Oh Lord God, I come to you in the name of Jesus Christ. Your word says, ‘… whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved’ (Acts 2:21)
So now I ask Jesus to come into my heart to be the lord of my life. I receive eternal life into my spirit and according to Romans 10: 9, ‘That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God raised him from the dead, thou shall be saved’ , Therefore I declare that I am saved; I am born – again; I am a child of God! I now have Christ dwelling in me, and greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world! (1 John 4:4). I now walk in the consciousness of my new life in Christ Jesus. Hallelujah!”
PRAYER FOR THE RETURNING BACK SLIDER (ONLY):
“Oh lord God, I ask for your mercy and forgiveness for turning my back on you. I come back to you today in total sincerity and like the parable of the prodigal son, I thank you for receiving me back with Joy and Gladness.
I confess that Jesus Christ is the lord of my life and God the father is my Daddy. Hallelujah!”
PRAYER TO RECEIVE THE HOLY SPIRIT:
“Oh Father, I thank you now for making me born again. For making me your child.
I ask that you give me your Holy Spirit to live in me and with me. For your word says that you would freely give the Holy Spirit to all those who ask. I open my heart and receive, and I know by faith that you have given me your Holy Spirit. Thank you Father. In Jesus name. Amen.”
CONGRATULATIONS! YOU ARE NOW A CHILD OF GOD. WELCOME TO THE FAMILY OF GOD.

WHAT’S “FREE DAILY CHRISTIAN BEDTIME STORIES”:
The “FREE DAILY CHRISTIAN BEDTIME STORIES” was formerly known as “KING’S DAILY BEDTIME STORIES.” It was a series of daily bedtime stories all written by Alfred Benjamin King but now it is open to any writer who is interested in writing a bedtime story to add to the daily series. The writer would receive all the credit for the writing but would not receive any money for it as the writing itself would be distributed for free around the web. It is however a good and quick way for new writers to get fame or at least acknowledgement in the industry and make it easier for them to get a publishing contract for their other works as their writings for the “FREE DAILY BEDTIME STORIES” creates a fan base for them as well as add to their portfolio.
This story should have cost you the same price of a children’s storybook that you can get from a book shop, but I prefer you learn to save money. It is an important skill every child should learn. So put the money you would have used to buy this story into your piggee bank.
The “FREE DAILY CHRISTIAN BEDTIME STORIES” series is a great and the only place to get free bedtime stories every single day for your kids.
You can review them yourself before you give them to your kids to read. It’s always good to review what you kids let get into their hearts. Entertainment is a tool to build or destroy. Monitor the movies, the books, the music and other forms of entertainment your kids get in contact with.
Thankfully, the “FREE DAILY CHRISTIAN BEDTIME STORIES” is for building and not destroying your kids.
WRITE A STORY TO BE FEATURED IN THE “FREE DAILY CHRISTIAN BEDTIME STORIES”:
If you are a writer or want to be a writer and you are serious and I mean very serious about it, you can submit your story to me at firstname.lastname@example.org if is rejected, I would send you a mail telling you why I rejected it and you don’t have to worry about your intellectual property because I won’t steal it. It’s to my advantage that other writers are involved in the “FREE DAILY CHRISTIAN BEDTIME STORIES” and are noticed for their involvement.
However, if I accept your story I would send you an e-mail telling you what day it would appear in the “FREE DAILY CHRISTIAN BEDTIME STORIES” series. It could take up to a week or a little more. And if there are no drawings in the story, then I would drawing the illustrations and take credit for only the illustrations. You would also have to include a short “About the Author” piece that also includes your online address or blog so the readers can know more about you and also visit your site. I also need a picture of you like the one you use for friend sites so that the readers can know what you look like so you can be more popular (and so they can attach a face to your name).
