But Jesus said unto them, they need not depart; give ye them to eat. And they say unto him, we have here but five loaves, and two fishes. He said, bring them hither to me. And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude. And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full. Matthew 14:15-20;
God’s desire for His children is to be fruitful and multiply in all facets of their lives. At creation, God placed on Adam and all living creatures the mandate to be fruitful and multiply. God equally reemphasized this mandate each time He entered into covenant with His people from generations to generations. For instance, God’s covenant with Noah and all survivors of the flood came with express mandate to multiply and be fruitful. Also, God’s covenant with Abraham came with great blessings of fruitfulness and multiplication for him and his descendants forever. God’s covenant with His people usually comes with mandate to be fruitful and multiply.
There's no doubt that God desires fruitfulness for us His children, but it is important that we know how to operate in the realm of abundance so as to experience all round fruitfulness. Christ in the above passage demonstrated how to operate in the realm of fruitfulness and abundance. From a little boy’s lunch of five loaves of bread and two fishes, over five thousands were fed to satisfaction with leftovers of twelve baskets!
Firstly, to operate in the realm of abundance, you must choose to consider whatever you have at your disposal at any moment as seed and not as bread. Bread is for consumption but seed is for sowing. The five loaves of bread and two fishes brought to the Lord Jesus was a young boy’s lunch, the boy could have eaten it for his own satisfaction alone but he decided to release it as seed so as to provoke abundance. The difference between those who walk in abundance and those who live in poverty lies in how they treat the resources at their disposal. Whatever you release as seed will always come back to you multiplied, this is because every seed as ordained by God, has the mandate to reproduce itself.
Another secret of fruitfulness is that you must align yourself with God. It is true that your seed has the ability to multiply and reproduce itself, but then, every seed requires the dews of heaven to produce. This informs the reason why the disciples needed to release those five loaves and two fishes into the hands of the Lord Jesus. While the bread and fishes remained in their hands, they were ordinary, but after they had been released into the hands of the Lord Jesus, they attracted the dews of heaven and became blessed bread and fishes. It is difficult for many people to release all they have into the hands of God and this explains the reason why their lives remain on the same spot. God can only breathe on your seeds if they are released into His hands. I see God breathing on every barren womb, business, career, home and life. Trust Him with all your heart and release all into His hands.
In addition, Jesus having blessed the bread and fishes broke them into pieces and gave them to His disciples who in turn distributed them to the multitude seated in fifties. There was a flow here which remained unbroken: Jesus gave the blessed bread and fishes to His disciples, the disciples also gave them out to the people. It was in the process of this flow that divine multiplication set in. If the disciples, upon receiving the bread and fishes from Jesus, sat down and began to eat them, there would never have been any increase. It was at the point of distributing to others that divine increase from above began. Whatever you are not willing to share with others will never attract divine increase and fruitfulness.
Finally, to experience all round fruitfulness, you must be in covenant with God. The only covenant recognized by God is the new covenant in Christ. Those who are outside of this covenant cannot access divine mandate for fruitfulness and multiplication. Covenant with God makes Him your ally and of course, that makes you unbeatable! Align your life with His will today and you will begin to experience all round fruitfulness and divine multiplication.
Shalom.
