Sit right down and let me tell you a tale,
about a country once great and how it began to fail.
This country started out with great faith in one God,
at a time in the world when such freedom was odd.
They came from all over, on many ships and much prayer,
trusting in God to safely guide them there.
And they learned the hard way, that freedom wasn’t free,
but forge them it did, into a nation of “We.”
“We the People…, United We Stand.., In God We Trust..,”
words we could live by, and defend them we must.
But something happened, something outlandish to us,
we got too comfortable and threw God under the bus.
We don’t want you, in schools or the square,
we don’t want you, right here or right there.
Faith is for the weak, in science we trust,
let us live for our pleasure, let us live for our lust.
So here we are, where do we go from right here?
Our blessings are fading, could our end be near?
Yet still we don’t see it, our blinders too tight,
our debt is so high, but still we avoid the light.
On Pelosi , on Biden, Obama and Reed,
on Boehner, McCain, spend more til we bleed.
Just give us more goodies, and forget about the cost,
it’s hard to get saved, when you don’t know you’re lost.
