The 2012 Presidentail campaigning is beginning to heat up. For many believers, the question comes up as to their level of involvement. I want to say first of all, that is between you and the Lord. One must always consider what the Bible says, and their own personal convictions.
Having said that, I am concerned about who believers think they should support. Often, the candidate that appears to come closest to biblical principles, good moral standards, and small government, among other things will attract believers most. But, that begs the question, if for example, I as a believer find a candidate that I can agree with say 95% on issues, should that be the one I should support? While 95% might be a good score on a math test, it shouldn't be when comparing a candidate's stand on biblical issues.
At this point, I want to get to the heart of what has motivated this note. It is this. It appears to me that a lot of believers are giving their support to Ron Paul. To those who do, I would ask: Do you know what he really believes? Do you understand his political philosophy? Ron Paul is a libertarian. If you need to understand just who they are and what they believe, I would ask you to Google it, as I don't have time to do it here.
Ron Paul, in line with his libertarian views, would legalize drugs and prostitution. Of course there is much more, just study what he wants to do if elected. Happily, I don't believe he will be, for two reasons. First, I don't think that the majority of Americans agree with his libertarian values. Secondly, Paul is not a globalist. [Ed. note: I will probably expound on this more in another note.]
Globalism, is the political trend these days, and has been for some time. At the time of this writing, without doing some research, I could not tell you who the last president was that was a nonglobalist. Even our beloved Ronald Reagon was a globalist. Without going into great detail (This will be later.), globalism, that is the coming together of the one world system in keeping with the preparation of the coming Antichrist.
So, to my believing brothers and sisters, I hate to bust your Pollyanna bubbles, and pie in the sky hopes for a better America, but, any involvement in the political process with hopes of improving one's lot is vain.
If however, you persist in getting involved, then check very carefully, just who you are supporting. You just may find yourself fighting against God.
Peace!
