"Deep calls to deep in the roar of the water falls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me." (Psalm 4:9) This is how David described is downcast, depressed, soul.
As parents our souls and spirits can begin to feel overwhelmed. In turn this may cause our spirit to feel the way Paul stated. We may begin to feel that we are constantly being pounded by wave after wave or problems.
Being a fourty something single mother myself,I sometimes send my steadily growing seven year old son off to school wearing shoes with disguised holes in them. Because it is either a few days, or weeks, until my next payday. This causes me to feel like I am not taking very good care of my son's needs. This is when I have a private conversation with my spitit.
I tell my spirit that it cannot let the weight of what I am facing overtake it. Then I remind my spirit that I have all ready released it to God and we must be patient and wait for God's answer.

Prayer:
Lord, sometimes while I am waiting for your answer to a prayer my soul and spirit looses their fighting stength. Please do not give up on me when I let this world bring me down. Give me patience and a boost of faith to wait on you. Because, as it says in your word, you all ready know my every need before I know that I have a need.
I pray this in Jesus name. Amen
