Break down Isaiah
And you'll see,
I
See
Always the Great
I
Am
Holy, Holy, Holy.
It's chapter six that turns the key.
Then flip to chapter fifty-three
Where you'll find life abundantly
Linked to the blessed Trinity.
Day five does crown creation's grace
Where teeming waters saw God's face
And greatly multiplied the fish
According to their Maker's wish.
Day three beheld God's mighty hand
As parting waves exposed dry land.
Blood red the sea that saved their souls
Did part to free the fleeing shoals
As in the dry land sank the seed
Which died that sinners might be freed.
For from this seed a great tree grew,
A tree that does make all things new.
This tree was stripped to form a cross,
Bare as the ground that suffered loss
Through mankind's stubborn, selfish will
Laid bare as dirt on Calvary's hill.
Blood spilled upon the thorn-strewn ground
Was shed that lost sheep might be found.
Forgiveness joins with healing grace
That righteousness might take the place
Of every error caused by man,
And bring to him a brand new plan -
A crumbling of hostility
Replaced by new civility
God's mercy - oh what mystery,
Gems of creative history!
Yet who this message e'er has heard,
For who has understood this word?
