I want it now
God makes everything happen at the right time-Ecclesiastes 3:11 CEV
Babies sure don't know the meaning of wait. My 7 week old son is a constant reminder of this. Whether he wants to be fed, have his diaper changed or just feel the human touch; he wants what he wants when he wants it, which is usually faster than his parents can provide. Sadly enough some of us are just like babies in that sense.
In the midst of catering to my son's needs I'm often reminded of Isaiah 40:31 (They that wait on the Lord shall renew their strength); coincidentally Fred Hammond turned that very verse into a beautiful song. I'm not only prompted to recite that song (whether in my head or out loud) when my son is crying out but also when things aren't moving along as fast as I'd like them to. Singing the song is the easy part but actually applying it to my situation requires a little more work and concentration. I'm certain that you'd concur.
As Psalm 37:7 says be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him
