I would wager a guess that “Britain’s most renowned Physicist,” most renowned according to the Daily Times, is quite a thinker.
Personally I am not impressed by his ability to reason. I recognize that there are many like Dr. Hawking who fancy them self to have all the answers from every inth degree of the universe because they have “studied it all of course.” How absurd, he has not studied everything that exists.
It is one thing for Hawking to say that it is his opinion that there is no heaven because he has not discovered one in his studies; that would be a reasonable proclamation. But to say with absolute certainty that, “There is no heaven and no after life,” because he, in his finite exposure, did not find one, is an absurdity.
It is good to be an open-minded person. What is true open-mindedness? It gives possibility to the learning of new information and the weighing of all proven information for fitting them together as truth. Then why and how can Dr. Hawking dismiss the experiences of thousands of people and most of the world’s religions as so much superstition, chosen by those afraid of the dark?
I hear from those who have been to hell that it is awfully dark there. Who in his or her right mind would not be afraid of such total blackness?
Stephen Hawking also makes comment that “Science and Religion are both belief systems.” Why with all the brilliance of intellect that he is supposed to posses can he not understand that all true science, those things that emerge as fact, are not surprises to the God who made them that way?
True Science and the Bible always connect in the end, when the scientists have finally discovered the truth. Science as fact is just as Bible as fact. They are opposite’s only to willfully unbelieving persons who work in the field of Science, or to the opposite type of bigot who refuses to consider scientific findings for approval or disapproval.
I recall several archeological discoveries in my life time that have proven the Bible correct and the nay saying scientific community as wrong.
In one of the world’s episodes of ignorance, “The God is dead” yet again cycles, when the scientific community said, the Bible is in error because it speaks about a Nation of Hittites which NEVER existed.
I recall that scientific archaeologists uncovered, you guessed it, the Nation of the Hittites. There it was all the time in the Bible, a fact to be known but rejected by the “super-intelligentsia.” And, incidentally, there are many such instances that could be cited.
When will the agnostic and atheist community open their minds to learn? When will the nay saying Scientists admit that they are caught in many errors about which they have been so positive? They are caught with egg on their faces, and some will even lie to make their religion, which is agnosticism or atheism, seem to be a truth.
Good reasoning says to us to take the statements of Stephen Hawking with the proper weight applied. His argument is his. He is finite. He has not been everywhere and he does not know everything. He is arrogant to make such all inclusive and definite statements about something that is solely an opinion, a theory, which he holds because he has not experienced an after life, nor has he been to either heaven or hell. How could he? He has not yet died!
After he has died, let him come back and tell me that there is no after life and no heaven and no hell and no God. His argument would then have more weight; until he knows after having died, his statement is nothing more than his opinion based on his projections.
He cannot find those things to be a fact. I know this for a fact, and so do many others.
I read a comment and I do not know the name of the author, but the saying is not mine, “When Science has spent years in study for truth, climbing many mountains to finally arrive at the pinnacle of truth regarding a subject, they find that the Theologian has been sitting there for centuries.”
