The years have passed so quickly, since each of you were born.
Yes, since the time I held your Mother, on that great June morn.
I checked each little finger, and each little, skinny toe,
And I praised my Savior for her, though so little did I know.
For I was only nineteen, I’m sure, very much like a child.
I knew she would cry, but I found that was putting it mild.
But, somehow we all made it through; and learned quite a lot.
And your mother was a pretty, sweet little girl. We loved that little tot...
Then suddenly, she graduated, and met the man who is your Dad.
It seemed she had made a good choice, but I admit that I was sad.
Several years passed, but it seems only like a long day.
When the “grandkids were born, and then they went away.
And now you have your families, which are your Grandparents’ delight,
Through the years, we have learned to live, by Faith and not by sight.
And the wheels of time continue to turn, someday we will be gone.
But be assured that each of you has filled our lives with song.
We thank our God in heaven for whatever days that He will give.
Even though we may be gone, must surely we’ll still live.
Then, we will be patiently waiting, to meet you at the Eastern Gate.
We’re so thankful for your parents who have raised you “First Rate!”
This calendar is made for you, in hopes of bringing a few smiles.
And hoping you may remember us, occasionally, across the miles.
And to tell you that we will be praying for you, each and every day.
That God will always keep you, on that straight and narrow Way
