Bondage?
Yes, I live my life in bondage.
But not as one is apt to think.
I did once.
My bondage tore me down,
nearly destroying me.
Chains of fear,
anger,
violence,
bitterness and hatred
held me captive.
The chains of sin.
Envy,
malice,
cheating and adultery
kept me bound.
Bondage to sin?
Yes, once, but no more.
Now I am a slave to righteousness,
kept in check by the
chains that conquered sin and death.
Chains of grace,
peace,
love,
forgiveness and faith
keep me from evil.
The chains of mercy,
patience,
joy,
gentleness and hope
help me press on.
Bondage?
Yes, I live my life in bondage.
But not as one is apt to think.
These chains are around me,
locked 'round my life by my choosing.
They do not drag me down,
or hinder me from loving life.
Rather, they give life
and allow me to live it to the fullest.
I find protection,
relief,
strength,
hope and healing
in these chains.
Bondage?
Yes, I am bound of my own choosing
by chains of freedom.
