A mother makes many sacrifices to raise her children:
*Gives up time, loves, interests and oftentimes life’s goals and ambitions to be available for her children (And no one recognizes nor regards the years of child upbringing as YEARS OF EXPERIENCE for any job application!)
*Sometimes a mother’s education is cut short because the child is dependent and needs support in may ways to grow and adapt to life in the society
*Goes the extra mile to get what her child needs physically, spiritually, educationally, socially etc to achieve his destined purpose
* She grows ‘camel’s knees’ in prayers and ‘scalloped’ fingers in hard work to achieve a goal because of her children
BIBLICAL DESCRIPTION OF A MOTHER
1 Now it came to pass, when Isaac was old and his eyes were so dim that he could not see, that he called Esau his older son and said to him, “My son.”
And he answered him, “Here I am.”
2 Then he said, “Behold now, I am old. I do not know the day of my death.
3 Now therefore, please take your weapons, your quiver and your bow, and go out to the field and hunt game for me.
4 And make me savory food, such as I love, and bring it to me that I may eat, that my soul may bless you before I die.”
5 Now Rebekah was listening when Isaac spoke to Esau his son. And Esau went to the field to hunt game and to bring it.
6 So Rebekah spoke to Jacob her son, saying, “Indeed I heard your father speak to Esau your brother, saying,
7 ‘Bring me game and make savory food for me, that I may eat it and bless you in the presence of the LORD before my death.’
8 Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to what I command you.
9 Go now to the flock and bring me from there two choice kids of the goats, and I will make savory food from them for your father, such as he loves.
10 Then you shall take it to your father, that he may eat it, and that he may bless you before his death.”
11 And Jacob said to Rebekah his mother, “Look, Esau my brother is a hairy man, and I am a smooth-skinned man.
12 Perhaps my father will feel me, and I shall seem to be a deceiver to him; and I shall bring a curse on myself and not a blessing.”
13 But his mother said to him, “Let your curse be on me, my son; only obey my voice, and go, get them for me.”
14 And he went and got them and brought them to his mother, and his mother made savory food, such as his father loved.
15 Then Rebekah took the choice clothes of her elder son Esau, which were with her in the house, and put them on Jacob her younger son.
16 And she put the skins of the kids of the goats on his hands and on the smooth part of his neck.
17 Then she gave the savory food and the bread, which she had prepared, into the hand of her son Jacob …………Mom with intuitive wisdom uses con to get her son set on destiny’s path….the children of this world are wise in their generation.
MOTHERS IN THE BIBLE
*Mary, mother of Jesus. Her cousin Elisabeth was also a miracle of the time because she in her old age gave birth to John the Baptist
*Salome, mother of the disciples James and John.
*II Timothy 1:5 "I call to remembrance the unfeigned faith that is in thee, which dwelt first in thy grandmother Lois, and thy mother Eunice
*Hannah of the Old Testament when she left her young Samuel in the House of the Lord at Shiloh, "I have lent him to the Lord; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the Lord." (I Samuel 1:28.) Hannah had named her son Samuel, meaning "asked of the Lord." She had prayed for his birth and made a promise that if she was rewarded with a son, she would give him back unto the Lord in service
*Rachel, mother of Joseph and Benjamin, was the first woman on record to lose her life in childbirth.
*David's favorite wife Bathsheba was a remarkably powerful woman. She intervened to have her son Solomon succeed his father as king.
* Eve , the first mother, experienced all the anxieties, heartaches and torments suffered by other mothers of wicked sons down through the centuries of time. Her first and most beloved son Cain killed his brother Abel. Much later a son was born named Seth who loved the LORD
*Jochebed was the mother of Aaron, Moses, and Miriam. Her name lives on, not by how many big things she accomplished, but by how wisely and well she served as a mother. She was able to save Moses from the Pharaoh's edict of death for Hebrew male children.
*Beloved wife of Abraham, Sarah, would become the Mother of Nations. Her son Isaac was born in her old age, the Bible's first story of a miracle conception. Sarah's life was one of continuous trial.
She was a dutiful and beloved wife who finally became a favored and venerated mother.
.A true mother has this character of God …she would never throw away the ‘bad’ baby with the bath water rather she loves and loves again and again all of her children. All babies are ‘BEAUTIFUL’ in the eyes of their mother….beauty and the eye of the beholder.
The Bible….You were wonderfully and beautifully made!
Finally, God made the ultimate sacrifice in UNCONDITIONAL love(A mother has this character innate from above) by sending His ONLY begotten son to wicked, sin-full man to be atonement for sin to save ALL from eternal death and damnation
