Bonnie Boo

I had a dog when I was small, her name was Bonnie Boo,
She was short and fat, her hair was black, and a little fuzzy too.

Her eyes were big and very brown, and her nose was soft and wet,
She and I were best of friends from the very day we met.

When Daddy brought her home to me she was a big surprise,
I loved her from the moment that I looked into her eyes.

We played a lot, just her and me, we jumped and rolled and ran,
“Hide and seek” was lots of fun and “catch me if you can!”

When I rode my bike round and round the block,
She waited for me in the yard while chewing on a sock.

She liked to sleep beside me when I would go to bed,
When I awoke next morning she was right beside my head.

When I came home from school each day, she met me at the door,
She jumped around and up and down and slid across the floor.

She had been at home all day playing all alone,
“Let’s play,” she barked, and ran to get her little rubber bone.

Bonnie Boo liked to play with little squeaky toys,
And as she pounced upon them they would make the weirdest noise!

She and I were best of friends, my little Bonnie Boo,
And if you could have met her, you would have loved her too.
