And the LORD God said, [It is] not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. Genesis 2: 18
Made to offer not just any kind of HELP but help in DUE SEASON!
1 Corinthians 11:9 neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.
Genesis 2:20 So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds of the air and all the beasts of the field. But for Adam no suitable helper was found.
Proverbs 18:22 He who finds a wife finds what is good and receives favor from the LORD.
Socrates said; "there is no possession more valuable than a good and faithful friend."
Francis Bacon said, "friendship doubles joys and halves griefs..."
Mark Twain said; "to get the full value out of joy, you must have someone to divide it with..."
"Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down his friend can help him help. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also if 2 lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can on keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."
- Ecclesiastes 4:9-12
God did not plan to reproduce himself and create another God since He is absolute and therefore unique, BUT God did what is best, He created beings His image, to be in God's image and likeness involves a lot; LIKE being able to think, reason, plan, dream, feel, choose, create, love,Being made in God's image and likeness IS ABOUT relationships, it is about connecting with AND enjoying that awesome divine community (Father, Son & Spirit) ALSO - connecting with and enjoying each other
I have always pondered on the fact that the serpent went straight for the woman, to entice and to make fall.
Why did it not try ADAM? Could it be that the woman was made specially to aid God's mission on Earth in the life of the man and the devil spotted that right away?
The mother of Nations, the one who takes her children, gives up her life's ambitions and joys without giving it a thought, just to give her children a good foundation by always being there for them.
The woman who would not 'take off' on a whim, chasing shadows in search of the purported golden fleece here and there just to achieve but would consider her Family's well-being before her very own?
Proverbs 31 is the icing on the cake about the reason that God made woman! Neither as a slave nor baby making factory, general cleaning maid or laundry-lady, rather as a force in the home that binds ALL LOOSE ENDS TOGETHER!
The devil went straight for the jugular!
The woman has been made especially for a purpose, this is shown in the ease with which Adam was convinced (did he need any?) by her to forget the almighty's command and did not think once about disobeying.
If roles were reversed, most likely Eve would have sensed with those UNSEEN FEMININE FEELERS, sensors that are innate and most likely tell him that she did not have a good feeling about the whole set-up
10 Who can find a virtuous wife?
For her worth is far above rubies.
11 The heart of her husband safely trusts her;
So he will have no lack of gain.
12 She does him good and not evil
All the days of her life.
a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.
Many of the things described is true of the heart of a woman towards her home especially her IMMEDIATE family and household, on the contrary MANY men do not give a second thought to the second by second contribution into the growing process of raising children, being there during the highs and the lows, patiently lending a hand to the silliest whim of that child, all these eventually mold the network of foundation that molds the child into the ADULT.
Not the Delilah/Jezebbel type nor the alcoholic narcotics abuser.
This tells a story; the point of it is that, once the devil gets THE woman, a whole family eventually (with time) is PULLED DOWN!
It is indeed not good for the man to be alone when he gets the true virtuous woman (also not throwing that worthy creation away with his own hands when he does!)
AS MOTHERS' DAY APPROACHES, THIS IS AN ODE TO THAT ONE WHO HAS BEEN THERE THROUGH THICK AND THIN
