And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.
And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them. Ezekiel 34:26-27;
One major cause of famine is lack of rain. When rain ceases, the earth is usually forced to mourn, famine is inevitable. The earth with all its treasures and fertility is not capable of producing or bring forth if there’s no rain from above. Rain possesses the divine ability to inject life into the parched ground and cause it to blossom. As the earth needs physical rain to bring forth, so also our lives need divine rain from above to yield increase in every aspect.
There are certain things a believer must do to open up the heavens for abundance of rain. To keep the heavens opened for consistent rain, you must live a life of intimate relationship with the Holy Spirit. The reason most believers are dry and empty is because they have neglected the presence of God. There’s nothing as important as the presence of God in the life of a believer. It is the Holy Spirit that brings the presence of God and refreshing dews into the spirit man of a believer. When we cultivate consistent fellowship with the Holy Spirit, showers from God are released into our lives in form of divine ability to do and to be all that we are destined for. A believer who neglects deep and consistent communion with the Holy Spirit will lack the ability to bear fruits or produce results as expected.
According to Psalm 67:5-6; ‘Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise
thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us;’ heaven can give abundance of rain when offering of unpolluted praise ascends to God. It is unfortunate that a lot of believers are full of complaints today; they bombard heaven with lorry-load of protests and complaints at all times but offer no gratitude to God for His goodness in their lives. Many believers are like the children of Israel; with all the great things God did to deliver the Israelites from Egypt, it is sad that they were always full of bitter complaints against God and His servant anytime they experienced a little hardship. It is not surprising that God was displeased with that generation and wiped them off with plagues. If you do not learn to offer praise to God at all times, you may be shutting the heavens over your head.
Another important way a believer can experience showers of blessings from above is to give sacrificially. It was the unusual offering of Solomon that caused the heavens to open for him. After Solomon’s offering of thousands, heaven responded with abundance of rain, God blessed abundantly to the extent that no one could match his riches and glory in that generation and generations before him! God has not changed! You too can provoke showers of blessings if you can give sacrificially to God. Many believers don’t demonstrate wisdom in the area of giving to God; they usually don’t put God first in their finances and financial considerations. Truth is, if you offer God second place in your finances, you offer Him no place at all! If you want to receive unusual rain of blessings, simply offer to God unusual sacrificial offering, heaven will definitely respond to you as it responded to Solomon.
Dearly beloved, God is set to send showers and cause the earth to yield its increase for you, but there’s a part you have to play. As much as God desires to bring showers upon your life, sin and unrighteousness will continue to constitute blockades. Sin attracts curses and repels blessings, and this is why you must depart from iniquity immediately in order to experience divine showers of blessings. According to 2 Chronicle 7:13-14; The LORD says ‘If I shut up heaven that there be no rain, or if I command the locusts to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among my people; If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land’. There shall be showers of blessings!
