“See, the Lord your God has given you the land, go up and take possession of it as the Lord, the God of your fathers, told you. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged.” Deut 1:21
Well, many of us have come across this verse, and yes we have read it, heard it told in our Sunday schools but then there is something powerful here...do not be afraid, do not be discouraged! If God is for us who can be against us?
When I joined high school, it was not never easy that way, my mum told me that life in school would not be easy and there was a possibility that I would not join high school. The fee was so high and my dad had no good paying job, we lived in tooth and nail, but then my God never let me down.
I said, I am gonna study for I know my God is well able, and guess what happened, I made it by His grace in high school.
The enemy never wants to see you succeed and posses what the Lord has promised you, he brings discouragement, just to make you feel that God is not in a position to help you, but this is a great deception he is using to dilute that which God has bestowed in your heart.
I have come to tell you and to encourage you that you can make it, if God is for us, who can be against us?
Many are under spiritual attack for they fear or lack courage. They live in discouragement. When a believer is discouraged his faith is lacking thus making him powerless to believe the promises of God.
The context of this verse from Duet. 1 was after God commanded Moses that they have stayed long enough on the mountain, to break camp and go take the land he had promised. Instead of obeying, they hesitated and once again used human reasoning skills and said “let us send men ahead to spy out the land.” This seemed good to Moses so he caved in and listened to human reasoning. The twelve spies came back and ten were full of fear because of what they saw. They were discouraged. They were also deceived and distracted.
You see Satan seeks to discourage the beloved people of God so they no longer operate in faith. Satan knew full well that without faith it’s impossible to please God. ( Hebrews 11:6)
Don't worry my friend, all you got to do now is to stop murmuring, go on and do as the Lord commands you, have faith.Remember, it is only two men and their families, out of several million Israelites, got to go into the promised land of Israel- Joshua and Caleb. They had faith in God’s word and the courage to walk in it.
Don't belittle yourself, you're too big for the enemy, you are more than a conqueror! Greater is He that is in you than he that is in this world, if He did it for Caleb and Joshua, He can do it also for you!
Therefore my friends, have courage, and be strong for the Lord our God is with you.
God's blessings.
Wishing you every joy.

Oh, Justus - it was a pleasure to read your words of truth and encouragement from the Lord's scripture as a reminder that He is with us and for us - not just way back then, but today and always! Blessings Brother, Jody
This is a very powerful topic Justus. Your words " it is only two men and their families, out of several million Israelites, got to go into the promised land of Israel- Joshua and Caleb" are a rallying call to christians to take their faith seriously. Your testimony is that God CAN get us there.
I'd like to read some stories of how God actually did come through for you at some times when you needed money to get to school etc. This will show people that God can do the unexpected, and does today. This gives people a REASON to believe, because "Faith is the ...... EVIDENCE of things not seen" Heb 11:1.
You and your stories ARE that evidence. Keep writing them. Keep telling them.
I have so much admiration for you when I hear these stories, because the Lord said it is "by the Blood of the Lamb and the power of their testimony" Rev 12:11. Testimony is an indisputable message that can reach hearts for Jesus.
